PAINLESS IN THE DENTIST’S CHAIR

Do you also always feel very small when you go to the dentist? You are not the only one, as was shown by research into the relationship between laughing, happiness and the dentist, done by Compagnie, a market research bureau commissioned by High Tech Laser. Very many people do indeed still dread the pain of the anaesthetic needle and the shrill noise of the drill.
32% of the respondents do not like going to the dentist and no less than 42% would change to a dentist who uses painless techniques.

But never fear, increasingly more dentists are switching to the use of laser technology to give you that beautiful and healthy smile of which you have always dreamt. But even the new High Tech Laser appliance does still not lessen the time that you spend in the dentist's chair, although it does guarantee you a painless treatment… without anaesthetic!

Light taps

A patient-friendly and efficient treatment of cavities, plaque, tartar and gingivitis is what the High Tech Lasers represent.

In that case, painless is the first translation of patient-friendly.
After all, in treating cavities, the laser gives off little heat, while a constant fine water spray provides extra cooling around the laser beam. A pain-reducing factor that is also supplemented by the absence of contact with the tooth. In other words, the laser beam does the work very precisely and from nearby. The only thing that you will feel are slight taps on your teeth. An important bit of extra information: in 85% of the cases, anaesthetic is unnecessary and therefore it will not involve that annoying needle! The patient will also accept the gingivitis treatment much more easily than the classical treatment.

Comfort is the second element of patient-friendliness.
The new laser is one with a compact, flexible handle and extremely fine treatment points. From now on, the dentist is able to reach all the affected places in the entire mouth, without you having the feeling that your jaws are about to cave in. In contrast to the traditional method with a drill, the laser will, moreover, have no effect on the healthy tissue.
Does the scraping noise of the tartar removal send shivers up and down you spine? By performing the Nd:YAG laser treatment, one has a slightly anaesthetic effect and the tartar becomes more brittle and therefore easier to remove. This produces a more pleasant treatment.

Another such patient-friendly factor is: everything happens in one session.
Because laser treatment on cavities does not require anaesthetic in 85% of the cases, the dentist can treat more than one affected tooth in one visit, whether they are left, right, at the top or the bottom of the mouth. The absence of bleeding also accelerates the process of the treatment.
In treating gingivitis, one can, thanks to the laser, also treat the entire mouth all at once!

What is also a bonus is another aesthetic consideration: cavities prepared by the laser are extremely suited to applying lovely white fillings.

About High Tech Laser

High Tech Laser was founded in 1989 in the lap of the first B&Co division, namely Lasermedico, as a specialized division in performance dental lasers and devices for dentists, oral hygienists, stomatologists and maxillofacial surgeons. At that time, High Tech Laser was the pioneer in the development of the first hard tissue laser dentistry. Years later, High Tech Laser is now the market leader in the Benelux with a complete innovative and quality rich line of dental lasers for a wide field of applications such as teeth bleaching, cavity preparation, gingivectomy, parodontology, endodonty, sensitive tooth neck, crown preparation assistance and many, many others. At the beginning of 2007, its market leadership was confirmed when the Dutch dental laser specialist Ricana opened shop in the field of high tech laser as High Tech Laser Netherlands.
High Tech Laser has its own service department and is known for its diverse training programs, as well as for its collaboration with universities and their Sola organization for the promotion of the dental laser technology.
