20 June 2008 Mirroscope by High Tech Laser, digital mouth mirror
Besides offering its innovative quality range of dental lasers, High Tech Laser also offers a range of dental devices that make the life of a dentist in his practice a great deal more comfortable. An excellent example of this is the MirroScope, the digital mouth mirror with benefits for both dentist and patient alike.
Mirror and camera all in one.
The MirroScope is an innovative instrument which combines the traditional small dental mirror with a miniature digital camera. The eye of that camera is mounted in the middle of the 30° angle mirror, whereas the camera itself is integrated in the handle. Powerful white LED lamps illuminate the area around the mirror. Those are powerful enough, so that the dentist is no longer required to focus his lamp directly on the mouth of the patient. The image in the mirror is enlarged 30 times on a screen. Thanks to the clever aerosol, the surface of the mirror and camera has a layer of condensation, with the result that one always has clear and well-defined images.
Both moving and still images can be made with the MirroScope. It may be connected to an existing screen, while connection to a PC will enable you to file photographs to keep a record of the steps that have been taken in the treatment.
A smoother treatment for the patient, dentist and assistant.
To have a clear and complete view of the patient's teeth, the dentist must often take up a position that is strenuous for his back and for which he also has to put extra strain on his eyes, even with a dental mirror. Those problems are now a thing of the past, thanks to the MirroScope, the images that the camera makes in the mouth are actually reflected on the LCD or computer screen in real time. The dentist does indeed perform the same actions with the MirroScope, but simultaneously looks at the screen in front of him. The working area may be turned, mirrored or inverted, according to the dentist’s preference. This all adds up to a comfortable working position without burdening the back muscles and the resulting back and neck pain.
The MirroScope not only contributes to more efficient diagnosis, but thanks to the images on the screen, the patient also gets a clear view of the state of his teeth and it is easier to explain what the treatment comprises.
The dental assistant can also clearly follow the actions that are being performed and can therefore anticipate the next step of the treatment quicker.

About High Tech Laser
High Tech Laser was founded in 1989 in the lap of the first B&Co division, namely Lasermedico, as a specialized division in performance dental lasers and devices for dentists, oral hygienists, stomatologists and maxillofacial surgeons. At that time, High Tech Laser was the pioneer in the development of the first hard tissue laser dentistry. Years later, High Tech Laser is now the market leader in the Benelux with a complete innovative and quality rich line of dental lasers for a wide field of applications such as teeth bleaching, cavity preparation, gingivectomy, parodontology, endodonty, sensitive tooth neck, crown preparation assistance and many, many others. At the beginning of 2007, its market leadership was confirmed when the Dutch dental laser specialist Ricana opened shop in the field of high tech laser as High Tech Laser Netherlands.
High Tech Laser has its own service department and is known for its diverse training programs, as well as for its collaboration with universities and their Sola organization for the promotion of the dental laser technology.
